How many working days does a painting job usually take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the size of your unit and the package you choose. As a rough guide, direct repainting takes about 3-5 days; patch repair & repainting about 5-10 days; and full strip & skim repainting takes longer, around 14-25 days. Our painter will give you an accurate timeline during the on-site quote, and we promise never to drag out the schedule without reason.

Is the quote "labour & materials included"? Are there any hidden fees?

Accepted Answer

Our quotes are labour & materials included — covering all labour, primer, finish paint, skim-coat materials, protective materials and a basic clean-up. Everything is itemised in writing on the quote, and unless you specifically ask for extra work midway (such as extra leak repair or replacing a door frame), no charges are added partway through.

Which brand of paint do you use?

We care about your health, so by default we use top-grade low-odour, anti-mould paint from trusted brands like Nippon Paint and Dulux. You're also welcome to specify a particular product or brand, and we'll adjust the quote accordingly.

How are furniture and floors protected during the work?

Accepted Answer

Before work begins, our painter uses professional corrugated board, foam padding and masking tape to thoroughly wrap and protect all furniture, floors, doors, windows and switch plates — so nothing of yours gets scratched or stained during the job.

Do you clean up after the work is finished?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Once the job is done, our painter removes all protective materials, clears away the construction debris, and gives the unit a basic sweep and vacuum so it's clean and tidy — ready for you to move in or bring furniture back right away.

How do I choose the paint colour?

Accepted Answer

Once the job is confirmed, we provide physical colour cards so you can take your time choosing. Our painter will also draw on years of experience to suggest colour combinations based on your unit's natural light and your preferences. Once the colour is confirmed, we order by colour code from the manufacturer to ensure there's no colour mismatch.

How do payments and the deposit work?

We use staged payments to protect both sides, usually in three to four instalments: a deposit (about 30%) when the quote is confirmed and the contract signed, a second payment on the first day of work, a third payment at a set milestone (such as completing the skim coat), and the balance only after the job is finished and you're satisfied with the walkthrough.

Is there a warranty after the work is completed?

Yes. Every painting job we carry out comes with a warranty period. If paint peels or natural hairline cracks appear during that period (not caused by damage), just get in touch and we'll arrange a free follow-up visit to touch it up as soon as possible.

Question 9

Will there be a strong smell after painting? Is there formaldehyde?

Accepted Answer

The paints we use are all low-formaldehyde, low-odour, water-based eco-friendly products that meet safety standards. Generally, keeping the unit ventilated for a few days after completion lets most of the smell dissipate, after which you can move back in comfortably. If you're especially concerned about formaldehyde, we can also provide a formaldehyde-removal coating service (at an additional cost).

How should I measure the size of my unit?

Our quotes use "saleable area" as an initial reference. The most accurate approach is to book our painter for a free on-site measurement — they'll measure the actual wall and ceiling area to be painted, assess the wall condition on the spot, and give you the most accurate quote.
